Update!

Well, my sweet little Mama is home safe, and she has an appointment with a very good orthopedic surgeon on Monday. We'll find out more then about whether further surgery is needed. For now she has just been resting and taking it easy. Daddy has been home from work and taking care of her, such a good guy. I washed her hair for her tonight since she can't get her leg wet in the shower and then we watched part of the 6 hours of television I had taped for her. She's in good spirits and not terrible amounts of pain. Plus, I love the quality time.

The job is going well. I've caught on to all my tasks and can breeze through almost any situation I come across. So far, so good.

This weekend, my friend Jessy and I are going to PA to see Nikki for a little girls' weekend. Can't wait!

Jess- I will look in my old school stuff for that article, but I don't remember it at all! Haha I guess I wasn't the star student you are. Any idea which class? Also, I think I still have access to JSTOR and the other journals so I'll run a search there too. You can always try the LOC website too, they've gotten great about digitizing their sources.

Allie, I'm so glad to hear your Mama is at home and doing as well as she can. Whew!

I would LOVE for you to come and visit some time this fall! Yay! More company to look forward to! :o)

Allie, I have no idea what JSTOR and LOC websites are! :-)

I don't remember which class, I think it was History of VA? I can't believe you don't remember that article! It is one of the ones I do remember because I found it so interesting. I even sent a copy of it to my mom. Yes, I know I am a huge dork.

Glad your mom is home. I hope she is feeling better now that she is with her own things, with her family and sleeping in her own bed!

Glad your mom is resting and safe at home. It is kind of fun to take care of your mom isn't it?

Glad the new job is going well also.

Jess-you have always had an amazing memory. You can pull things out of thin air. I'll read something and of course, as soon as I go to tell someone about it, the info disappears. I'm rubbing my forehead and making attempts, "It was about this, but I can't remember exactly what happened, blah blah." This is why I can read books over and over again. I forget them over and over. :)

JSTOR is one of the databases that holds all kinds of historical articles among other things. And the LOC is the Library of Congress. www.loc.gov :) Sorry! And I hate to say it but I probably didn't read it because I never read any of the readings, just paid attention to lecture! I know it's so bad! I'll check though cause I think I kept my stuff.

Allie, I *know* you read it because it was a class hand out and he gave us time to read it in class. You sat beside me and read it at the same time I did!!

I will just email him and tell him my mom wants the article (which she does) so I don't feel like such a complete dork! I think the author of the article wrote his dissertation on the night prior to artificial light and I would actually be interested in reading more of his work, not just this particular article.

Sorry to have taken your blog in a weird direction! :-)
